Spode Christmas Tree Soup Plate, Set of 4

Not made in England - Spode Soup Rimmed Bowls
I did not know, until I received my rimmed soup bowls, that Spode is now being made outside of England. Much to my dismay, my 'made in Malaysia' bowls do not nestle together with my other bowls that were made in England. The bowls made in Malaysia are also of inferior quality, with flaws and unevenness in the pottery itself. They are slightly smaller than my original Spode bowls. I am very unhappy with my purchase, but did not know, at the time, to ask if they were made somewhere other than England. I will not make that mistake again.
As soon as I can afford to, I will be replacing these inferior bowls with the real - made in England - soup bowls. Reputable sellers should include whether their Spode is made in England or elsewhere.

RUSSBOROUGH 4 PC HOSTESS SET

Exactly what I was looking for. Beautiful.
I have a couple of sets of this dinnerwear but after a few dinnerparties, I noticed I have a fork and a serving spoon missing. I shudder to think they were tossed in the trash or stolen from my home but either way, they grew legs and walked off. I was so upset to have an incomplete set but I understood this style to be discontinued. After seeking Amazon's library of items I came across this seller of exactly the pattern I was looking for. I purchased two items , One was a place setting (to replace my missing fork and now I have an extra spoon, knife etc) and to replace my large serving spoon ( and now I also have extra serving items). They were exactly what I wanted. Packaged perfectly and in great condition. The real deal.

I hope I don't need to do business with this seller again just because i don't want to lose anymore of my silverware but If I need to in the future, this will be the first place I look for replacement pieces.

Lenox Winter Greetings Oblong Sandwich Tray

Beautiful, perfect size
This is a beautiful platter. I love that it coordinates with the Winter Greetings china but isn't exactly the same. It is the perfect size for a batch of scones or small tray of goodies for our family of four or when I have just a few friends over. So many of the platters are just too big and look skimpy when they aren't filled up. I like that the oblong shape leaves plenty of room on the table for other items. I always receive complements when I use it for both its beauty and for how unique it is. I highly recommend.

International Silver Buffet in a Box 49-Piece Stainless-Steel Flatware Set, Service for 8

Elegant looking and strong enough for casual and formal situ
The silverware utensils are strong enough.

The flat dishes are attractive porcelain (china) with decoration of 2 silver rings pattern. The carrier looks strong enough, though I am afraid to drop the dishes, so I put another hand underneath the dishes when I carry this set. (quiet heavy with one hand only). I was not sure if the dishes were silver, but they are china, normal. I am convinced that these are identical to Wallace Silversmith buffet 49 piece set(they have silver and gold colors, this set at Amazon is silver), but let me know if I am wrong. Wallace is at least $120 including the shipping (around $20) when I froogled it. So take advantage of low price and free shipping of Amazon.

Every piece looks quite attractive. I received only recently, and if I find any further information, I will post here.

Noritake Colorwave Graphite - 4 piece place setting

Good everyday dishes
I registered for the Noritake Colorwave place settings when I got married five years ago. They have held up wonderfully, despite our rough treatment (we wash them in the dishwasher and stack them to store). Only a couple of pieces have any chips. They are slightly heavy, which my husband loves, and they simple colors compliment everyday living. They do eventually show little scratches and chip occasionally, but I have never had one break.

Great quality, beautiful stoneware dish set
I have owned this collection (service for 12) for 2 1/2 years and I love it. I have the chocolate brown color. I actually purchased from Macy's, not Amazon, but I wanted to comment since several people have left negative reviews and I have had none of the problems mentioned. They are our everyday set, and we only wash our dishes in the dishwasher. They are still in beautiful shape - no scratches, nicks, or chips at all. We also don't have kids yet though. I love these dishes - all of mine were well made (I inspected them all out of the box before we started using them), and I really liked that they were a stoneware but don't show the metal marks from the utensils like others do.

The only issues I have found with them are: 1) you can't put cling wrap on them (as another reviewer pointed out), so I use foil instead or if it's something in a bowl I put one of the small plates on top of it, and 2) coffee and tea do stain the cups over time, but I just put a small bit of bleach...

4 years - No Chips or Scratches!
I was searching for other pieces to add to my set and was surprised to see all the negative reviews, so felt compelled to add a review noting my good experience. My husband and I received 12 sets of the 4-piece place setting(6 green and 6 graphite) for our wedding 4 years ago and have used them extensively as our everyday dishes since then. We always wash in the dishwasher and are not especially gentle (these are everyday dishes after all) and have not experienced any chips nor any silverware scratches. And we've definitely banged dishes together in the sink, and on the edges of the granite counters around the sink. Every piece in the set still looks brand new after 4 years of daily use. I love the simple style, and the various other plates/bowls/platters/bakeware that Noritake continues to introduce to complement these dishes. I will agree that certain brands of plastic wrap do not like to stick, but I rarely store anything in the fridge in the bowls/plates. My husband and I...

Platinum Trim probably being discontinued
BEWARE: I too was thrilled to see the Platinum trim Holiday china, but after some research, I found that there are only a few companion pieces for the platinum. I actually called Lenox to ask if I was missing something and was told that they are probably going to discontinue the Platinum due to customer disinterest, which I can certainly understand if they are not committing to making companion pieces. A lot of people would be interested in this trim. I however would be really upset if I had invested in the platinum only to find there was no way to complete the set in the future.

Helpful for preventing drips
Although I prefer a stand that is fixed to a gravy boat because it automatically prevents those gravy drips on a special tablecloth, this stand is the next best thing. If you are trying to cut costs, the gravy boat will work on its own, but the stand is more esthetically pleasing and useful at the same time.

This mug is a lovely Lenox piece. The weight and handle are more like a teacup than a traditional mug. The rim is also like a teacup so it is easy to sip your drink. The colors are beautiful, but it is had to see the variety of colors on the photos on line. A Wonderful Pattern
When I originally chose my holiday china pattern, I chose Spode "Christmas Tree". After all, it contained every serving piece known to man, was reasonably priced, and, knowing it's reputation, would be around forever. The only problem was, it bored me to tears. Dull,dull,dull.

Then in 2000, a new holiday appeared in the Lenox line. Not only was it cheerful, it could be used for Thanksgiving and even a few other occasions on which a happy non-sophisticated pattern was appropriate.

I began to collect. Amazon has, at times, been a price blessing; however, they aren't the only on-line concerns to produce great prices, but I always try them first.

One caution for those looking for a formal pattern. Lenox has, in the last 3 years. moved to a more casual look, i.e., mugs instead of footed cups and saucers and the like. The 5 piece place settings ARE still available, but not the formal sugar, creamer, and coffee pots. Your best bets for those are china...

Beautiful lenox. Too bad the pattern is discontinued as of this year. Too bad that some pieces are not made in the USA. If you are like me and prefer products produced in the US, need to check individual pieces of this Lenox pattern for country of origin.

Outstanding Value
Discovered this pattern a few years back but never wanted to spend the extra money on it. Every holiday season I would look at it and talk myself out of it. I decided this Christmas that I would just start collecting a place setting at a time because it was just so beautiful and could be used for Christmas and Thanksgiving. I started searching for the best price and could not believe the low price that Amazon offered. On top of the low price, there was also free shipping. I discussed this with my husband who said I should go ahead and get 8 place settings at this deal. Royal Albert Old Country Roses Open Vegetable Dish

Nice, but oval
I purchased this dish as a gift for my wife, thinking that it would be a decent sized round vegetable dish. It is not. Although you cannot tell it from the description and there is no picture on the "product description" page, this bowl is actually what I would call an oval vegetable dish, which is somewhat smaller than the a round vegetable dish.

The quality of the china is fine and it arrived undamaged, although later than I was orignally told. I would give the china 5 stars as an oval vegetable dish and the description 2 stars for being far too vague.

It is for a present for someone who has these dishes but did not have any servings peices to go with the dishes. Better prices than anywhere else I checked.

Royal Albert Old Country Roses Teapot

Very Beautiful Piece
I bought this beautiful teapot to match my other Royal Albert tea sets. Too bad it did not come with its own box. I am very disappointed when it arrived in broken pieces. Yes, there is bubble wrap around the teapot but the lid was inside the teapot without any bubble wrap. The shipping box did not has "Handle with Care" label on it. I had called the customer service to get a replacement. Hope this time it will arrive safely.

Wedgwood White 5-Piece Place Setting

Simply Beautiful
It's not easy finding a china pattern of high quality in plain white, but Wedgewood White fits the bill. The pieces are formal in shape and they are slightly translucent when held to the light, as bone china should be. The plates are not oversized, as some other white china patterns are. As far as color goes they are a bright white, but not glaring white if that makes sense. I love the fact that the simple design will allow me to add seasonal accent plates and chargers that I can change with the holiday.

Arrived with a broken cup, but replaced immediately!
Since this was several place settings of china, I was concerned about breakage. Upon arrival, I noticed one of the cups had broken. I contacted amazon and a new cup was sent out immediately. Great service!

Love it
We bought this china after getting married. We think that the pieces are simple, yet elegant.

We've only broken one piece and that was totally our fault. Even a friend's toddler drop a plate and it didn't break. These plates are very tough.

The edges of the tea cups are so smooth on your lips. They are great. The edges of all the pieces are very smooth.

The only problem we've had so far is just with Wedgwood the company. When we broke the one piece, we tried to contact them about their discount replacement policy and we received no replies. I know the company is going down the tubes, but we still love these pieces, so I just ordered a replacement piece from somewhere else.

Other than the company itself not doing so well, we love these pieces.

Reed & Barton Longwood 18/10 Stainless Steel 5-Piece Place Setting, Service for 1

Exactly what I needed
This was our flatware that we put on our wedding registry in 1999. The original version was made in Korea and is excellent. These are made in China and look and feel slightly different. You probably wouldn't notice if you didn't have the earlier pieces right next to them, but they feel less substantial and not as well-balanced. But overall, I still like the styling and we were able to add to our collection at significantly less cost than they originally sold for.

Not the same as mine! Close, but not quite the same
I needed another set to complete my set. Not the same quality my original. But it will do since I can't find my set anywhere else!

Godinger Dublin Crystal Set of 12 Goblets

These were Great
I have never received so many complements about my crystal as I did with these. My "good" crystal cost over $50 per glass and they hardly get noticed! I bought these for a dinner party because I didn't have 12 goblets and they looked like a good deal. I'm going to buy more for coctail parties. They are substantial and look like they cost a great deal more than they do. If you look really closely, you can tell they aren't high end crystal, but no one looks that closely - especially at a fancy dinner that has low light and candles. There's no worry here if someone chips one. Also, at this price I didn't worry about putting them in the dishwasher.

Good cheap crystal
That's it. It's a good cheap crystal set. Glasses are heavy and thick and they do feel a little bit bulky, but they look just fine on the table - still sparkling and shiny. You probably will not cry if you brake one of these, but that's what makes this set even better! It's crystal but it's very practical and very cheap.

Packing wasn't great, but surprisingly all glasses were OK. I ordered this set on Dec 31 and my estimated delivery date was showing as Jan 27. But I received them on Jan 2!

The bottom line - I will definitely keep this crystal set and use it for all possible occasions. I will get another one as a gift for my friend - it comes in an elegant white box.

also the description goblet seems to be incorrect they are not big enough to be goblets they basically are like a wine glass but with more thickness

they dont have the volume of a goblet

Royal Albert Old Country Roses 42-Ounce Coffee Pot

Money well spent!
I was a little upset at first because I knew the product wouldn't be coming in a nicely packaged Royal Albert Box (and as we all know, thats part of the excitment in opening something of value, is seeing the 'Tiffany or Loui Vitton' wrapping.

Ah well I thought. It was a week before Christmas and no one sold the one item my mother was missing in her set, which happend to be the Country Roses coffee pot.

The price on Amazon was just right and when it showed up on my door step 3 days before Christmas, with no expedited shipping and all in one peace, I was thrilled. All I needed to do was buy a nice big red Christmas bag to put it in and with that taken care of I was able to give my Mother the impossible to find, not to mention beautiful item that she had been seaching for for quite a while.....at a decent price.

Coffee Pot Completes the Set
It took a while, but I finally received the Royal Albert Old Country Roses Coffee Pot. It wasn't in it's original box, but it was well packaged and it's perfect in every way and beautiful of course. I finally have a complete set and it looks so nice in my hutch cabinet ready for many family dinners to come. Thank You.

This is exactly what I wanted, bone china and beautiful. I did check with Royal Daulton, and this item rarely comes in the beautiful Rose Damask box, as it is considered a normal dining piece, and the Rose Damask box is a "gift" box. This is a shame on Royal Daulton's part, since this is the type of thing that is wonderful to give as a gift at holidays, showers, weddings ect for the person who has this pattern, or any lovely pattern for that matter. In any case, it is lovely, and the purchase process went flawlessly. Nicely packed in the box from Royal Daulton and additional packing around that, arrived ahead of schedule, perfect! Thanks! My purchase was from The Fine China Store through Amazon, which even with shipping came out a little less than the Amazon offering. Very happy with their service.

Reed & Barton Country French 18/10 Stainless Steel 5-Piece Place Setting, Service for 1

Buyer Beware - Now Made in China!
Although the Reed & Barton Country French pattern is lovely, it is now MADE in CHINA! I purchased a 5-piece place setting to add to my existing set. Much to my disappointment, it is now made in China. Not only am I concerned about using this flatware for food since the metal it is made of is questionable, but there is also a definite change for the worse in quality. For example, the "made in China" dinner fork weighs 1.4 oz vs 1.9 oz for the original dinner fork. That 0.5 oz makes a big difference in heft and feel. Very disappointing.

Disappointed
I was disappointed to open the package and find that the Reed and Barton Country French place setting was made in China! I returned it for a refund. It is a beautiful pattern--wish I had bought more years ago when products were made in America.

I was very disappointed to find out that this place setting was not exactly the same as my original setting...the product said made in china, and lead content was less than my setting. Even though the setting name and brand name is the same the quality is NOT! My original setting was made in japan.

Marquis by Waterford Vintage Champagne Flutes, Set of 4

Love!
I love these simple but well made crystal flutes. We have the other Marquis by Waterford Vintage glassware (for wine). They are all beautiful well made classic wine glasses. And, Amazon has improved their packaging it seems - these all arrived unbroken and in adequately padded packaging (I've ordered glass/crystal in the past from Amazon and had things arrive broken). Highly recommended!

Champagne Flute by Waterford
Beautiful. We hardly ever use these glasses with company that we don't receive a compliment. We love several of the Marquis by Waterford line.

Classic styling
The Waterford Vintage champagn flutes arrived quickly and looked even better than the pictures. Would recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful flute that would go nicely with any setting.

Useful!
We use these beverage glasses more than any if our other Marquis glassware. An elegant way to serve everything from water to coke to beer. I was worried they would show up broken, but my two boxes were packaged well and completely intact. Now if only I can keep my husband and maid from breaking them (they are why I ordered two more boxes).

Good Glass - Great Set
These are really nice, but I gave it a 4 instead of 5 because they aren't perfect for the price/quality. Nice size, but the proportions are a little off. We have tons of Marquis by Waterford and LOVE all the stemware. These are nice because they go with the set. I highly recommend them for water and have heard the actual water glasses break very easily.

Reed & Barton Country French Stainless Steel 4-Piece Flatware Hostess Set

Good enough for company
After purchasing this set (I got 8 place settings) I decided I no longer needed my silver flatware and sold it. This is a very pretty yet sturdy set. I love it!!

Complement any flatware and make an attractive addition to a dinner table.
Beautiful pieces. I use them as serving pieces when I have guests. I gave one set to a dear friend. They are of excellent quality and blend in well with my other flatware. The pattern is simple but classic.
