Spode Blue Italian Sandwich Tray

Beautiful but a little small
Got this for my sister-in-law from her wish list. It looked a little small to me but she loved it. Check the dimensions for yourself before you order. I was expecting a functional tray.

Should list country of orgin.
Buyer beware. Although this tray is quite nice. It is made in China, not England. I have many spode pieces, and all are from England.

Beautiful Tray
I gave it for Christmas to my mother, who absolutely loved it. It is smaller than I expected, but that's really only my fault as it says right in the product description that it's 13" long.

Not having used it, I cannot speak of its utility. It is really nice to look at either way.

Large Elegant Casserole or Soup Tureen
This Lenox piece holds an extremely large quantity of soup or casserole. It is microwave and oven proof to 350 degrees, so you can cook and serve in the same beautiful casserole/soup tureen. Handles are sturdy, but short, so they are hard to grip with a cloth pot holder, but easy to grip with bare hands. Because of this feature, you may decide to use this as a serving dish only. Good for a large group rather than due to large capacity. We are a family of 2, so we would prefer a smaller casserole from Lenox.

Good quality, pretty, a bit smaller then I expected
This casserole is very pretty. It has two different pictures on its 2 side (the photo is just showing one of them). It's very detailed and pretty. However, it's smaller than what I expected so be sure to check the size because you buy it. The cover is also very detailed and pretty. Made in Indonesia. I recommend it.

Dansk Variation V 5-Piece Place Setting, Service for 1

A new generation of Variation V
I've had Dansk Variation V for 35 years, including pieces manufactured in Denmark, Finland, Japan, Korea, and China. There are slight but real differences in the shapes of each utensil type (spoon, fork, etc) from country to country of manufacture. These latest sets are made in China; the polish is higher, and the molds are clearly different. If you have acquired this pattern in recent years you may not notice; if you have originals, you will. It's a bit too soon to tell how well these pieces will "age" (stand up to the dishwasher, etc). Otherwise, they blend in with the older pieces except when lined up with like items (ie, spoons, forks, etc). For the price, these are a great value.

Dansk Variation V flatware
I ordered some individual pieces recently to add to my set which I have had since 1970. Actually, I only needed the teaspoons. Well, I returned the teaspoons and kept the rest. The forks are a different shape and the knives had spots after one washing but I decided to keep them anyway. The stainless is not up to the original standards of manufacturer. My biggest disappointment was the size of the teaspoons. They were much smaller. And the teaspoon is already on the smallish side. They are manufactured in China and I was truly not satisfied.

Chinese-made Dansk not up to Dansk Standards
Upon close observation and after a week of casual use, I am very disappointed with the current production of Dansk Variation V silverware. For one, the Chinese-made versions no longer match the style of the previous 40+ years of production for this model. It is similar, but too different to add to an existing set of older, superbly-crafted Variation V silverware. As for quality/finish, the inside edges of the fork blades are not polished and food particles cling to those roughly-milled inside edges. It's too bad that company's worldwide throw away their quality standards in pursuit of cheap, Chinese labor. I think I'm being generous to give this product 2 stars.

Reed and Barton English Chippendale Sterling Silver Flatware - 5PC
I originally chose this pattern for my wedding back in 1989. I am so delighted with the delicate pattern and classic style.

The sterling is high quality, and I really enjoy polishing it to a fine sparkle. The pattern is not bulky but very refined and charming.

I purchased 12-5PC place settings for $109 each between 1989-1999 from a wholesale fine china shop in Long Island, NY. The value of these place settings is now around $900/5PC setting.

They have increased substantially in value. This is Reed and Barton's finest pattern of sterling flatware.

They would not be suitable for engraving because of the delicate floral pattern at the handle base. Engraving would ruin this pattern.

Unlike many sterling makers, my butter knife is completely sterling silver and not a sterling handle with stainless blade.

This is something you will want to ask the merchant because it makes a difference in the value of the piece...

Beautiful Glasses & Price was excellent
Just like any Waterford, they are not cheap. I ordered through 4 for 3 deal, excellent quality and the price was very good, almost 45% off MSRP.

Initally, I was not pleased when I saw sticky label, made in Slovenia becuase I thought they were knock offs or seconds. I called Waterford USA, they informed me that pretty much none is made in Ireland unless you are the King of Kings.

Will buy as gifts to family memebers Christmas 2011.

A manly martini glass
Looking for a birthday gift for my wife, and after searching the internet for hours and coming across some acceptable - but very expensive - possibilities, I finally found these on Amazon. Ordered them and have absolutely no regrets. They are nice and heavy crystal glasses and my wife likes them as much as I do even though, as the title suggests, I find them rather manly. I guess the beautiful crystal appearance also makes them extremely womanly too. And, an extremely reasonable price!

This is the best martini glass ever! It's design assures that it's virtually impossible to tip it over. And, even though it's elegant crystal, it's heavy enough that they don't suffer any damage in the dishwasher. Mikasa Arctic Lights Double Old-Fashioned

great glasses!
These are beautiful, heavy glasses of a good size. I got them to make caiperinias in - I needed something bigger than 8 oz. - but smaller than 14 oz.! They have nice, heavy bottoms that make muddling the limes easier.

They weren't cheap - but you get what you pay for!

Oozes class
This glass is great. It absolutely oozes class. You will know it the first time you drop a couple ice cubes in it and hear the ring. I have tried drinking Scotch out of my cheap again glasses and it sure seems to taste different. The experience is certainly heightened by having a quality glass to drink from. When you're paying $50+ for a bottle of Scotch, what's $20 for a glass to drink it from?

Beautiful Spode piece. I was pleasantly surprised it had a Make in England stamp on the bottom. I was expecting it would be manufactured in China. I wish Amazon would specify where the Spode pieces are made.

This perfectly shaped 'Blue Italian' Spode creamer arrived quickly and safely, well-packaged in a Spode collector box, with its 'Made in England' stamp at the bottom plus added promises for dishwasher and microwave safety and convenience. This creamer matches wonderfully with my 'Made in England' stamped 'Blue Italian' Spode teacups and saucers, which were purchased from Amazon a number of years ago. With near daily use, the 'Blue Italian' Spode teacups and saucers have held up to microwave and dishwasher treatment, and I expect no less from this new creamer. If this is stoneware, it is delicately lightweight like hardened porcelain or fine bone china. Though delicate in feel and appearance, I trust it will be as strong as the teacups and saucers have been for years. Time will tell but I have high hopes based on my tireless experience with the 'Blue Italian' Spode cups and saucers.

Mikasa Flame D'Amore Martini

Very nice
I bought two of these after I was down to one from my previous set. These are well made sexy looking glasses that are just the right size and look good in my bar. Its about 6 onces which is a really fat double. Some of the glasses on amazon are 12 oz. I cant imagine why anyone would need a 12 oz martini glass. These however are pefect.

Spode Blue Italian Teapot

Made in England Blue on White Perfection
This teapot offers a beautifully classic blue and white look, with the lovely old Italian scene of a pictorial country setting and the delicately lovely floral homage to fine china beginnings in China. Complete with a `Made in England' stamp on the bottom, this gloriously shaped 'Blue Italian' Spode Teapot arrived well bubble-wrap packaged within and without of its Spode collector box. This teapot seems to be porcelain or fine bone china in appearance and weight, but this Spode line has been listed as earthenware and stoneware too so maybe only Spode knows, but if it is either of those latter heftier two, it is very lightweight for those wares.

Also listed as dishwasher and microwave safe, I can personally vouch for that promise on my coordinating `Made in England Spode Blue Italian' teacups and saucers, because they have been used nearly daily, and have faced the microwave and dishwasher here continually for years, without any hint of aging, crackling or fading. This covered vegetable is just lovely and, of course, the same beautiful pattern that I love. I would mention that it is a bit smaller than the standard size serving bowls we have now. I think our portions today are larger so our modern serving bowls are larger. So if it appears a bit smaller it's probably because this is from a different time when we ate less...I think!

This, and the other Lenox Vintage Frosted flatware I ordered through Amazon.com are wonderful -- but I'm prejudice...it was my selection of the pattern and I am very picky about the things I spend good money on!! So this stainless is very exciting to me, and I am glad to have the full set, which now includes also the hostess set and a total of 12 place settings! May want some extras at some point of the serving and hostess sets.

Keeps hot or cold and looks pretty!
I recieved this as a gift along with the platter. I use this to keep salad (potato salad, spinach salad) cold when I know the food will be out on the table for a while. When everyone is gone and I clear the table the bowl is still cold to touch! And it looks very nice on the table. I don't know how it works but it's a great piece to have.

Beautifully made silverware
This is a beautifully made silverware set. the weight of the pieces is perfect if you like silverware on the slightly heavier end. The details and look is something that is hard to appreciate in a picture. I saw this at macy's for 80 and knew it would be much cheaper online. I bought a single set for travel so that I wouldn't have to use cheap disposable silverware or more commonly when I don't trust the cleanliness of the restaurants silverware as I am a bit paranoid. One thing to remember is this stuff cannot be washed in a dishwasher and must be washed by hand.

I bought a Parchment vegetable bowl at $34.99 on sale (invoice also indicated such). When bowl arrived, it was the wrong bowl--Crown Jewel Platinum. When I attempted to get a replacement from Amazon, I was informed that the bowl was no longer available by a customer service representative. It was available as per their website, but at the $58 original price. I usually buy books from Amazon and have had no problems, but I would be careful with buying dishes.

Just Great!
I love this china pattern its so classic, anyways I recomend getting more vegitable bowls than platters I learned that one the hard way... I recomend all of the pieces in this set, for the glasses I chose the Mikasa Sonata, and for flatware Gorham Frosted Melon Bud.

I now own two of Wilton Armetale Flutes and have started giving them as gifts. Serving dishes that are classy and modern and will keep your foods either hot or cold. I use the bowl for my salads and just yesterday a fruit salad for a baby shower. The plates and platters are great for serving platters for your meats and will keep the meat hot while people are serving themselves. Elegant dishes!
I already have a set of 4 and added 1 more set but the family is growing and I want to increase the place settings to 8 so I had been searching for this for a long time. Finally I have the 3 place settings and I am just so in love with it. The ones I just bought are a little use with some scratches in the bottom of some plates but it still looks elegant to use on special occasion. This butter dish is perfect for the fat butter sticks. I haven't tried putting two sticks in it I buy the "Lurpak" butter or an Irish butter that I get at my local grocery, and this is perfect for it. I love the pattern and the ceramic is very high quality.

We chose the Reed & Barton Longwood-Matte set for our wedding registry as it was a nice design and sturdy silverware that could be used for everyday dining. It has held up very well for over five years of everyday use and has been through the dishwasher many times and still looks very good. I like that it is/was sturdier than other silverware we looked at without being too big. The matte finish is a nice touch.

Delivered promptly in good condition, though outer boxes a little older, made no impact on the actual product. Good deal.

Portmeirion Botanic Garden Condiment Pot with Spoon

A cute, tiny dish with limited use
This pot is so small its use is limited, however, its daintiness adds a delicate charm to a table setting. I am currently using it as a salt dish for which it works nicely. I can't see using it as a mustard, mayonnaise, relish or jam pot, given its size, since it wouldn't hold more than a few servings, but of course one could. If you collect Portmeirion for decor purposes, this pot adds contrast to larger pieces.

As with all Portmeirion this piece is so beautiful....and very delicate. I honestly thought the mustard pot would be bigger! I was surprised to open the box and see that is was so tiny!! I got this as a gift for my mother for Christmas, because she owns and still collects most of the Portmeirion collection. I hope she likes the mustard pot I will give her....even though it is such a small gift!
