Portmeirion Botanic Garden 34-Ounce Teapot

Nice Teapot.
My wife is gradually picking up various Portmeirion Botanic Garden dinnerware items and one of the later additions is a 34-ounce teapot. It's a very close variant of the one pictured here. The lid is identical, but the lower portion features Lathyrus odoratus (Sweet Pea) rather that the floral design featured here. That's OK. She likes the design as well as the teapot.

One of the reasons she likes the teapot is because of it's size. She can make up a batch of tea that easily serves four people. Also, she can make up a still larger batch by making the tea in the pot stronger and then adding hot water to the cups as they are filled. In either case, the pot can be used for a good-sized setting. Another thing she likes is the design of all Botanic Garden dishes and this teapot matches her growing set of items. She's very satisfied with the teapot. Personally, I prefer a good coffee as a hot beverage, but a nice cup of PG Tips is refreshing now and then.

Portmeirion Botanic Garden 34 Ounce Teapot
Teapot arrived in great condition but wasn't the pattern pictured.
The one I received was Sweet Pea design. Amazon, you need to
change your photo.

Jiggling lid.
The tea pot itself is very pretty. The problem with it is that the lid doesn't quite fit right. It jiggles on the pot and has to be pushed down hard to seat it, then it still jiggles. If I had found it in this condition in a department store I never would have made the purchase. It definitly is a second, like what you might find in a discount store but at least then you expect these kind of imperfections. The reason I didn't return it is because of the trouble of mailing it out and it is still a very pretty peice, I work 8AM to 6PM with a very short break usually if any.
